Why Choose Us

Why Choose A Midwife?
Today’s CNM is a registered nurse who has completed advanced studies in women’s health care and midwifery. She is a skilled health care professional who provides primary health care to women. A CNM can provide gynecological care that includes annual physical exam, pelvic and breast exams, and Pap smears. She educates and assists with different family planning methods. Treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and menopausal symptoms and prescribing hormonal replacement therapy are also done by the CNM.
During your pregnancy, your midwife will monitor your health and your newborn baby. She is prepared to answer any questions and educate you on proper nutrition, exercise and personal hygiene. Her goal is to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle for yourself and your newborn baby. During labor, your midwife will evaluate your progress and offer both physical and emotional support. She may offer pain relief ranging from back rubs to epidural. The midwife will assist you with your delivery to make it as natural as possible. But, if a complication arises, she is educated to handle the problem or seek assistance from the on-call physician. A CNM offers a full range of services with a “personal touch.”
